For Transplant Patients

The highly trained teams at UK Transplant Center specialize in the needs of transplant patients. Our physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners and nurse coordinators, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, and support staff provide expert medical care before, during and after surgery. 

To begin the transplant process, ask your personal physician to refer you to UK Transplant Center, or you may refer yourself for a consultation.

Your first visit will include an evaluation by the transplant team to determine if you are a candidate for an organ transplant. Together, your surgeon and nurse coordinator will help you through the process and answer any questions you may have. If the evaluation shows that a transplant is appropriate, the team will discuss the benefits and risks of the procedure with you.

If you and your UK Transplant Center care team decide a transplant is the right choice, we will partner with you throughout the transplant process, clearly explaining what to expect at every stage and helping you set realistic goals for getting back to your normal life.
