Dr. Smallwood was excellent, I really felt listened to and she took the time to explain her thinking about different options.

Dr. Smallwood has always been so helpful and intentional with her care when I have seen her.

Adequate care

Dr. Smallwood made me feel like she was taking my problem seriously. She did not have a clear answer for my problem, but her decisions as to how to go about my problem (labs, ultrasound, etc.) made me put my confidence in her. I feel like even though there might not be a clear diagnosis, she is doing everything she can.

Truly one of the best doctors experiences i've had, she explained how everything worked to me and walked me through all of my options for proceeding forward with care.

Dr. Smallwood is phenomenal. She is caring, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen and attend to my concerns.

The doctor interrupted me before I could finish explaining my symptoms and let me know that she would not be doing a blood test to check my hormone levels (which I didn't even ask for), as it would be pointless and completely dismissed my concerns of ovarian cysts, even though I have a history of them. She then mentioned that over 8 years ago I came to UK Student Health for a standard STI/STD screening and very strongly suggested that perhaps I had been sexually promiscuous and that she should test me again, even though she noted my marital status, as well. After I told her I hoped I would get some answers, she let me know that if my follow-up ultrasound showed nothing, that I would have to just accept that result. I do not feel as though I was listened to or taken seriously at all.

Dr. Smallwood was kind, caring and informative. She listed well to my concerns, and asked good feedback questions. Some of the answers to my questions were maybe not what I was hoping for, but she explained them in a way that was not dismissive and I appreciated that. I did not feel pressured to make any decisions about treatment options and she was supportive of me wanting to take time to think it all over.
