About

Megan started her career in labor and delivery as a registered nurse here at UK. Megan was motivated to become a nurse after becoming a young mother herself and experiencing labor and birth firsthand.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has been with the University since 2011. While continuing to care for patients as a labor and delivery nurse she returned to graduate school to complete her midwifery education at Frontier Nursing University. In 2021 Megan joined the midwives at the UK Midwife Clinic full time. Megan hopes to empower patients to take control of their own healthcare while supporting them throughout the lifespan. It is her goal to be a safe and inclusive place for all patients seeking midwifery care.

While not working Megan enjoys spending time with her family including her husband Zach and three sons. They enjoy small scale farming, hiking and sustainable living.

I got a two for one deal :) since a new midwife was training I was able to meet them both! I really appreciated how much time they took to answer questions. I never felt rushed or like I was asking too many questions. At multiple points, they asked what else? What other questions do you have and I really appreciated the permission to ask all my questions. I never felt dumb or embarrassed for asking questions and the midwife was able to answer my questions well while validating my concern.

I came in saying infection, after talking with doc she had no answers and asked about cancer in my family. Anxiety through the rook and mammogram... turn out to be infection.

Megan is an excellent provider. She seems to have a distinctive approach in that she gives a patient plenty of room to share their concerns and questions and she does not fill the interaction with her own interjections until the parent asks and/or is finished sharing.

I think that was the most time I've spent with a provider in a long time. I had an issue that I figured would be brushed off with a wait and see but instead she asked lots of questions, reviewed lab results I had from a recent family dr visit and genuinely tried to figure out what was going on. We left with additional labs and scheduled an ultrasound to figure out the cause of my issue.
