Jennifer Cherolis is a master licensed diabetes educator and a certified diabetes educator. She received a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from the University of Kentucky. She has actively practiced diabetes education for more than 25 years. Cherolis is one of the outpatient diabetes educators at the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center.Shana Cunningham is a master licensed diabetes educator, board certified in advanced diabetes management, and a certified diabetes educator. She received a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from Eastern Kentucky University (2004) and a master of science in nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan University (2013). She has actively practiced diabetes education for nearly 10 years.

    She was excellent. One of the best and most respectful conversations I've had with a diabetes educator in 20 years since diagnosed. The first 16 were mostly with providers at Ohio State. Since 2021, it has been with UK's Barnstable Brown. In past, I've felt uncomfortable with focus and tenor and approach of most of the diabetes educators. Most were dietitians. Jennifer is a CDE but RN. I think that helped us have better rapport.

    Jennifer helped me better understand how diabetes works and it's effects in my body. Through a series of questions she helped me understand that I know more about my condition than I thought, and filled in gaps in my knowledge.
